A Word from Ms. Dee Kahana School of Fine Arts was established in 2002 along with Kahana Fine Arts Studio for the purpose of supporting excellence in artistic achievement in both music and art through private lessons, workshops and classroom instruction. Our program gives many occasions for students to interact as they learn various instruments or work together on art projects. Our special program "Christmas in the Lobby," will be expanded this year. A time around the lobby Christmas tree will give each child the opportunity to share a Christmas Carol on his instrument of study. Art students may create Christmas displays especially for this gathering, and of course there are always gifts around the tree. Special projects the second semester create interest as students participation in special contests to aid in learning of music theory that coincides with their grade level of study. Art students, during January and February will prepare special displays of work to be exhibited for tourist in our lobby area. There will be opportunities for Tourist to vote on "Peoples Choice" This will prove to be special fun and a learning experience for all. Lastly, our students will complete a year's end with a Recital held at the beautiful Sacred Hearts Mission church at Kapalua. Opportunities also will be given for art students to display Art Work at the Recital. All in all we are looking forward to an exciting year of accomplishment.
